![]() After notifying the devs, the game was eventually updated and he then went through and unlocked everything, showing that the game was indeed completable. There were a few with zero unlocks on TA that showed unlock percentages on Xbox, which made me optimistic that they weren't broken.Įarlier this year, Saurvivalist posted in the game forum that some of the achievements were indeed broken. ![]() And unlike those enemies, stick resources don't endlessly respawn, so you are getting screwed incredibly hard.Like with almost everything I buy, this languished in my backlog for months while I followed the discussion concerning whether or not all of the achievements worked. Fighting them without a bone spear, let alone any spear, is absolutely grinding. tldr: the blessing spear is the best spear, since it effectively has no downsides lmaoīut the BIGGEST issue with the Loathing is that those enemies endlessly respawn, just like all others. To attack normally is to miss an attack, because enemies will dodge if they aren't locked into an animation, which means that dodge attacking is the only way to do combat, and the dodge attack isn't affected by your attack speed. But here's the thing, it's only the slowest if you are attacking normally. It is indestructable, it is the most damaging, and it is also the slowest. That blessing spear btw, has three traits. You have to go through SO MANY spears to deal with the enemies of the Loathing that it is just better having one you never need to replace. My advice to deal with combat is to get the spear you buy and equip through blessings AND the blessing that makes enemies bleed for a while after damaging them (works with ranged also). The targetting system will often fail and lock on to nothing. Getting the Dodge Attack is the only thing that matters because it auto-locks the target. Singular.īecause there are no combos or strategies. In fact your attacks are better defined as "attack". The dodging is okayish, but attacks are too simple. ![]() The game feels more "interesting" than what has been described as a peaceful experience, but the combat is SO BAD that it doesn't warrant the whole Loathing thing.Įnemies have extreme phantom range, will dodge everything if they haven't started an animation, and are overall a mess to deal with. I played the game from start to finish on Adventurer, with all dlcs. I don't want to stop playing, but when frustration overtakes fun, why bother continuing? ![]() I've really enjoyed the sailing, exploring the islands, crafting tools, etc. I also wish the game included an optional "training ground" of sorts in which players who have little experience with combat games could practice fighting against some of the animals in the game, to learn the controls and gain confidence. If so, I too wish there was a way to uninstall the update. I don't have any experience with combat games, so evading/attacking the animals without getting myself killed over and over again has been difficult for me (but I've made it to Chapter 2 playing in Adventurer mode).įrom what I'm reading here about the update, it looks like the game has been made impossible for people like me - unless these changes (I'm specifically asking about the increase in aggressiveness of the animals) don't apply to the Adventurer mode. My daughter (24 yrs) bought this game and encouraged me to try it.
